Lighting the New Roads to the New People Power

Philippines – In line with the series of activities to celebrate the 25th year of the Edsa Revolution, the Edsa People Power Commission set February 23, 2011 as its Youth Day.

The event gathered the youth in key cities all over the nation to symbolize the transition of responsibilities from the present to the future generation of Filipinos. Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan created the prayers for the inter-faith Para-liturgy that was utilized. SLB also led the participants in the nationwide activity. At 5:00 pm, the Filipino youth, then, gathered along the major roads of different cities to light candles and to say their prayers and petitions.
