Kwentong Bayan para sa Simbahan: An Invitation
SLB conducts a semi-annual National Situationer dubbed as KWENTONG BAYAN. We regularly invite people who are adept with and can objectively give a reading of the economic, social, and political situation of the country. With the theme "Kwentong Bayan para sa Simbahan", this year's topic revolves around the assessment of the state of Philippine Society, Politics and the Environment in the light of our current social context and the forthcoming 2013 elections.
Through this year’s Kwentong Bayan, we seek to present a more inclusive understanding of the different contexts and dimensions of the contemporary Philippine Society. More importantly, we aim to revive, strengthen and reinforce SLB’s close collaboration especially with its Church Networks of religious, priests, seminarians and other Church-based institutions. Thus, particularly in view of the forthcoming 2013 elections, we wish to strongly encourage your engagement and participation towards reform-based actions through this kind of activities.
For KWENTONG BAYAN 2012, we have invited the following speakers:
Noel Vasquez, SJ to give a reading of the current political situation in general and the implications of the upcoming 2013 elections
